Extension and refurbishment of a historic cottage.

Situated on the west coast of Ireland this historic cottage has been home to artists and writers for many years. We have been commissioned to fully renovate the two oldest sections of the cottage and remove and replace the poor quality newer section with a 2 story contemporary extension.

The extension houses the new kitchen at ground level and provide additional living space at the first floor, both of which take advantage of the sites spectacular views to the North, East and South capturing Sligo’s iconic mountains of Benbulben and Knocknarea through strategically placed punched openings at the first floor.

Clad in wood and stained the extension sits back into the hill to its rear from the distance and becoming more dominate once within the wider site allowing the views of the coast line on which it sits to be as unaffected as possible.
